Vice President of Healthcare Innovation and Community Partnerships
Crystal Ayoob is the Vice President of Healthcare Innovation and Community Partnerships at Umoja Food For Health. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and a thought leader in the Food is Medicine space, recognized for her expertise, influence, and ability to drive innovation and change, particularly in partnership with healthcare payors and community-based organizations.
Before joining Umoja Food For Health, Crystal served as the Director of Nutrition Services and Vice President of Healthcare Partnerships for one of largest not-for-profit home-delivered meal providers for seniors in the country–Meals on Wheels San Francisco. Through this work, she connected Meals on Wheels providers and other community-based programs with Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans for delivery of medically tailored meals, medically tailored groceries, and nutrition counseling by RDNs. At the state and national levels, Crystal is a Council Member for the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Public Policy Council, a member of the Senior Nutrition Advisory Committee for Meals on Wheels America, and a subject matter expert in healthcare partnerships for the Nutrition and Aging Resource Center.
Crystal holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Samford University and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from San Francisco State University. She is a Lifestyle Coach for the CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program and is currently pursuing her board certification to become a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Based in San Francisco, California, Crystal lives with her husband, Derek, one-year-old daughter, Sloan, and their pit bull rescue, Samson.
